Meko is a singer & songwriter that began her music career in her father's church at the age of 10 as the youth choir's worship leader. At age 19, she started writing lyrics and recording music with producers Rich Harrison (Beyonce, Jay Z, Amerie) and Jay Fenix (Melanie Fiona, Raheem DeVaughn).
In 2000, she performed at the Philadelphia Music Conference and met DJ Ran. The following year she wrote and recorded her first commercial song titled, “O” (Hating on You and Me) for the movie "O" featuring Mekhi Phifer and Julie Stiles. The music video was featured on BET.
In 2002, Meko started her own band opening up for major artists in clubs and became a "ghost writer" for singers and rap artists. She also toured with several artists such as Talib Kwali, Mos Def and Common.
Meko continues to write and release songs and is the manager of Team Next MC, a marketing and branding consulting firm for independent entertainers. She assists with artist development, songwriting and performance techniques and guidance on how to build your brand.
She is also an advocate for domestic violence awareness who raises money through her "Good Snitch" project and online boutique Thrift Snitch. She uses her personal testimony as a survivor to challenge victims to snitch on themselves to end the cycle of violence in relationships.
Meko is currently writing her autobiography, "Love is not Pain" that will be released in February of 2017 as well as an EP of the same title to serve as the soundtrack for the book.
